چکیده

Many efforts have been made to manage homogenous B-ISDN networks across multiple domains. However, less effort has been made for hybrid BISDN network management. The ACTS MISA(Management of Integrated SDH and ATM networks) project addresses the issue of hybrid ATM and SDH management, aiming to automate the end-to-end GBC (Global Broadband Connectivity) service in the integrated ATM and SDH network environment by realisation of the Global Broadband Connection Management (GBCM) service according to the TMN(Telecommunication Management Network) management architecture. The routing issue is fundamental to automating GBC so as to choose an optimal or nearly optimal route for the purpose of meeting various constraints imposed by customers and, at the same time, achieving good network performance. In this paper we discuss the routing issues, within a domain and across domains, in the MISA environment. By analysing the characteristics of the MISA network and MISA management system, the MISA routing requirements are identified. Through reference to ideas from the existing datagram network routing approaches and an understanding of the distinction between MISA routing and datagram network routing, a MISA inter-domain routing scheme is proposed for use in the panEuropean demonstration. The scheme is based on a link-state algorithm tailored to allow for QoS constraints and simple policy routing.

An Evolutionary Fuzzy Algorithm for Qos and Policy-based Inter-domain Routing in Heterogeneous Atm and Sdh/sonet Networks

One major issue in future B-ISDN is the problem of routing, given QoS and policy constraints. The problem has been proved to be extremely complex and heuristics have been proposed to reach near-optimal solutions . In this paper we propose the use of computational intelligence algorithms, such as fuzzy logic and genetic algorithms for route computation. We designed an inter-domain routing mechan...

Improving Performance of SDH/SONET-WDM Multilayer Networks Using Weighted Integrated Routing

This work deals with routing schemes in SDH/SONET-WDM multilayer networks applying Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) or Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) on top of a dynamic photonic network in Wavelength Division Multiplex technology (WDM). The focus are integrated routing schemes which benefit from an integrated view of the SDH/SONET layer and the optical layer. Besides the comparison of ...

A New Efficient Integrated Routing Scheme for SDH/SONET-WDM Multilayer Networks

This paper presents and evaluates the new Weighted Integrated Routing scheme to solve the problem of dynamic routing and traffic grooming in meshed SDH/SONET-WDM multilayer networks. Its performance is compared to non-integrated schemes using a cost model.
